A gravity-fed bobsled through the rainforest canopy. A chairlift to a 1,000-foot summit. Ziplines, an infinity pool, and the most fun you'll have on land in Jamaica.
Mystic Mountain sits across from Dunn's River in Ocho Rios. The headline is the bobsled — a gravity-driven, rider-controlled coaster that weaves down a 1,000-foot rainforest course on a track inspired by the Jamaican Olympic team. It's not a roller coaster — you control your own speed with a hand brake. Most riders go again immediately.
The whole park is built around it: a 15-minute SkyExplorer chairlift up the mountain, a SkyTransfer zipline that flies you over the canopy, a tropical bird aviary, an infinity pool with a hilltop view, and a restaurant on top.
The things worth doing, told straight by people who run this trip every week.
Inspired by the Jamaican Olympic bobsled team. Each sled fits one or two riders. You brake yourself — go fast or go slow. The track winds 1,000 feet through the rainforest. About 90 seconds top to bottom.
Open-air chairlift to the summit, 15 minutes up through the canopy. The ride itself is a tour — you see toucans, parrots, and the coast of Ocho Rios open up below.
Five ziplines over the canopy and across the mountain. Optional. Worth it if you've got the time.
At the summit there's a small swimming pool that looks straight out over Ocho Rios. Decent restaurant, decent rum punch, ridiculous photo backdrop.
