Turquoise limestone pools, jungle waterfalls you swim under, and rope swings into water so blue it doesn't look real.
Blue Hole sits about 25 minutes inland from Ocho Rios, in the hills near White River. Limestone has carved a series of deep, vivid blue pools over the centuries — clear, cold, and stacked with waterfalls between them. You swim, climb, jump, and wade through it. Most pools have rope swings. The deepest is about 30 feet.
This is the local alternative to Dunn's River — quieter, more adventurous, and the better choice if your group is athletic and the cruise crowds aren't your scene. Local guides walk every group through it. We bring you door-to-door from Ocho Rios, MBJ, or Negril.
The things worth doing, told straight by people who run this trip every week.
The site has 6+ separate limestone pools, all stunning blue, each with its own waterfall feeding it. You move between them on guided trails and swims.
Several pools have rope swings — Tarzan-style swings into deep water. Heights range from 5 feet (gentle) to 30 feet (committed). All optional.
A couple of the falls have hollowed out the rock behind them — you can swim under and stand inside the cascade looking out. One of the more memorable photos you'll take in Jamaica.
Required by the operators — and worth it. The guides know which paths are safest, where the deeper water is, and how to spot the fish in the lower pools.
